A Little About This Song…

Little Moses has been known by the names “Moses In The Bullrushes”, “By The Side Of The River “, and “The Finding Of Moses” over its long lifetime. The Carter Family recorded it in 1929; biographer Charles Wolfe noted that Sara had learned it from an older relative. An older version is found in Spiritual Folk Songs of Early America (1905).
