A Little About This Song…

Charles Austin Miles (1868-1946) wrote In The Garden in 1912 following a vision of Mary Magdalene at the tomb of Jesus. It’s original words and melody are still used today. It’s a highly popular song for solo vocalists who like to lead harmony singing at the chorus.

This lovely song is often heard at funerals and memorial services for the deceased, fitting for its inspirational message of faith in resurrection.

A Related Bible Verse…

John 20: 15-16

Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? Whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne Him hence, tell me where thou hast laid Him and I will take Him away. Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself and saith unto Him, Rabbi; which is to say, Master.
