A Little About This Song…

In 2011, Swing Low, Sweet Chariot became the official Oklahoma State Gospel Song. While often assumed to have roots in the deep South, it’s more likely that the tune was written by Wallis Willis, a Choctaw slave in the Oklahoma Indian Territory around 1862. It’s been wildly popular over the years across a broad array of genres. Invite audience participation when you sing this one!

Psalm 91:11

For He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
